A Birthday Celebration At Bings Picnic
Our not-sobaby girl was turning two years old. How did that happen? She was a babe in our arms just two minutes ago.
We were keen to mark the occasion in a way that she would love.
A child friendly mini break perhaps…but where? The destination needed to also entertain our very grown up four year old too, so we decided to head to Alton Towers. Alton Towers is not just about thrill-seeking rides, it also caters brilliantly for little ones too. Cbeebies Land, is the perfect space to keep your little ones entertained for the whole day.
We stayed at Alton Towers’ Enchanted Village, which is filled with a small community of mini log cabins, decorated in a forest style interior. Perfect for little imaginations. Both Finley (4) and Olivia (2) loved it and soon made friends with the other children within our patch. When we arrived, the lodge was filled with balloons, a teddy and a yummy homemade birthday cake. Olivia felt very special indeed.
The weather was particularly lovely on the day of Olivia’s birthday, so we decided to walk from our accommodation to Cbeebies Land. There was the option of using the free monorail which would happily accommodate our buggy, but we decided to save that for the way home.
Each of the rides and attractions were themed by a Cbeebies Show including Num Tums, Postman Pat, In The Night Garden, Go Jetters and lots more. After a morning of rides, we decided to head over to the Cbeebies theatre, to watch The Duggee Show. There was lots of audience participation which the children loved. After the show the children got the chance to meet Duggee himself. They were thrilled.
Alton Towers have recently launched a new live show within ‘Big Fun Show Time’ called ‘Bings Picnic’. Bings Picnic allows the audience a chance to share their lunch with the loveable Bing and Flop. After lunch the characters play lots of fun games with the audience. The show was really interactive and great for that post lunch lull.
After the show, we met the characters and had a selfie with them too. The children were delighted. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day. Olivia is such a huge fan of Bing that the show really made her birthday.
The Cbeebies experience was perfect for both my children, the rides were at the right pace, the Big Fun Shows were hugely entertaining and the interactive areas which included Nina and the Neurons and Mr Tumble’s garden and many more was a perfect distraction in between rides and shows. There are 14 rides and attractions which we thought was the perfect amount for both our children to enjoy. Thank you, Alton Towers for having us we had such a lovely day. We will be back.
