Goan Fish Curry

Spice up your Fish Fridays with this easy to make Goan Fish Curry. Full of flavour and made in a few easy steps.


(This recipe will make 4 servings, adapt the ingredients if just making for one. Or even better stick the left overs in the freezer)
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
3 cloves of fresh garlic or if you are cheating 2tsp of lazy garlic
3cm of ginger or 2tsp of lazy ginger
1 can of chopped tomatoes
1 onion finely chopped
1tbsp garam masala
1tbsp cumin
1/2 tin of coconut milk or a 200g pouch (Asda do these)
500g of white fish (Pollock, Haddock or cod)
2 packs of 250g microwave rice (1/2 a pack per serving)


Add ginger, garlic and chopped tomatoes to blender or food processor. If you want to add a bit of spice feel free to add a green chilli, chopped & deseeded.

Heat a saucepan with a little coconut oil

Finely chop onion and add to pan, fry for a couple of minutes

Add garam masala and cumin, cook for another minute

Add blended tomatoes, ginger and garlic, cook for 2-3 minutes

Pour in coconut milk and bring to the boil, turn the heat down and allow to simmer for a few minutes

Add the fish prices and cook until the fish is cooked through

Slice a lime and squeeze juice in

Serve with 1/2 pack of microwave basmati rice and fresh coriander
