Mr J (that’s my social media shy hubby incase your new to my ramblings) treated Finley and I to a baby moon before the arrival of baby number 2.
The weather in the UK was pretty lousy at the time of booking so we decided to head to Mallorca, Spain. As seasoned travellers to this beautiful baby friendly island, we decided to try somewhere new and found ourselves in Port de Soller.
With an abundance of cool hotels to try, we booked into Hotel Esplendido and Esplendido it is!
The hotel decor is nicely up to date with a trendy Scandinavian feel. The lush white walls are covered in hip & colourful art work, which are for sale should you be in the market for an expensive souvenir.
The hotel has a fab bar and a yummy restaurant with a comprehensive designer menu. I indulged in the prawn and squid ink rice. It was delicious and there was not a morcel left insight. I wouldn’t recommend a conversation whilst you eat this culinary delight as a squid ink smile is rather embarrassing. I also had the ‘Snicker’ style dessert-it was heavenly!
The hotel has a beautiful spa facility, along with two pools. One is an indoor heated affair and the other is situated in the garden terrace which has stunning views of the port. Perfect for tiring out a toddler.
Mr J and I never took advantage of the babysitting service so instead we had earlyish suppers and stayed in our room with a sleeping Finley. Fortunately the lure of the extensive DVD collection entertained us most nights. After a day of running after an energetic toddler it was the perfect way to relax. Or if like most parents you have a subscription to Netflix or Amazon Prime you can stream both their services using the hotels free wifi.
We had a fantastic time at Esplendido and will be sure to return again.
